Hello and Happy Mid-year! As a first-time author for The Nav, I’d like to take this time to introduce myself and tell you a bit about who and what I manage for Altair Global. My name is Elizabeth Stewart and I’m the Executive Vice President of Business Development, Marketing Communications and Global Consulting Services.
In this issue of The Nav, we are specifically highlighting and celebrating the achievement of our Marketing Communications team in launching our brand new, redesigned website: www.altairglobal.com
After attending the EuRA conference in Seville, Spain, Altair Global's VP of Finance and Pricing, Simon Scott, discusses the hot topics raised at the organization's first in-person meetup in three years.
In the wake of our return to office, we’re reflecting on where we were two years ago versus where we are now. For reference, take a look back at our June 2020, COVID-19 Benchmark Survey: Impacts and Reactions. As the Altair COVID-19 survey demonstrates, in the summer of 2020, there was so much that was still unknown. As we review the impact of the last two years, we see how far we’ve come, what has changed and what changes are here to stay.
As a result of the deadly collapse of the Champlain South Tower in Surfside, Florida, in June 2021, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac issued changes in Q4 of last year to their lending guidelines in light of projects with significant deferred maintenance. With these new guidelines taking effect in 2022, purchasers may encounter challenges when trying to finance the acquisition of condos (with five or more attached units) of similar age and condition. Increased scrutiny on documentation such as homeowners’ association (HOA) meeting minutes, inspection details and engineering reports is anticipated.
It's good to be back! Our sales team is on the move across the globe. Take a look at some of our latest in-person meetings below.
